FIFA has announced to provide financial support to upgrade the infrastructure of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).


FIFA will provide $408,000 to the ANFA for upgrading ANFA House at ANFA Complex under FIFA Goal Project-II.

The Chief of the FIFA Goal Project-Asia and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Vice President Manilal Fernando accompanied by Vision Asia Development Officer, Chrysthantha Perera, announced the project amidst a press conference at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato, on Monday.


Fernando said they were extending the support for upgrading the ANFA complex. "We are funding this amount to ANFA House," Fernando said adding, "We want our member associations being capable of providing all sort of facilities to its players. And the ANFA needs bigger house with all necessary utilities to camp the national players."


Meanwhile, FIFA has also approved the KC Construction, a construction group of Bhaktapur, for upgrading the ANFA House as proposed by ANFA.

"FIFA technical officer will arrive in Nepal within a week to sign the contract with KC construction and finalize everything," Fernando said adding, "The construction will begin on October and finish within six months."


He also assured that Nepal will be given Goal-III project if the construction work will finish by March 2011.

Nepal is the only South Asian nation to get the project.
