We all take care of our face, health, hair, hands, clothes, but how many of us do really pay attention to our feet? This is because they are the most neglected part of the body. But what we do not realize is that they are actually very important as they absorb about 5 times the weight of our body and keep us running. There are 26 bones in one foot which is a quarter of the total bones in the body. These bones are combined with an intricate network of both muscles and tendons.
One can take care of the feet by following four important things:
Take care of the feet, keep the nails of the toes trimmed and shaped, remove the dead skin, and regular massage of the feet and ankles.
Here is a foot care routine which is easy to follow and should be performed a number of times in a week.
Start off by removing the dead skin with the heal pod a scrubber of a sloughing cream. You can remove the dead skin more easily if you soak your feet in hot water. This is because the hot water loosens the dead skin cells and thus it becomes easy to remove it.
In a bowl of hot water, add some mineral salt and some drops of lavender essential oil, then soak your feet for about 5 to 10 minutes. This will help in soothing the aches and ease swelling.
Remove your feet from the bowl and soak dry. Trim the nails of the toes with an emery board.
With a nourishing cream, massage your feet with your thumbs. In a circular motion, massage the ankle bone to relieve it from sti
ffness.
With cotton wool, wipe off the excess cream if any and separate the toes by placing cotton wool tufts in between the toes.
Apply a nail paint of your choice with two coats. Add a third coat if needed. When applying the paint, start from the middle of the nail and then with gentle strokes, paint the side of the nails. Let it dry off for half an hour and then slip into your shoes.
We don’t realize how important our feet are until they get injured. It doesn’t even have to be a serious injury; it can be something as insignificant as an ingrown toenail or small rub on our heel, and suddenly everything we do becomes a little harder. When there is something wrong with our feet, we walk differently, and when we walk differently, we start to find muscles that we didn’t even know we had.
That single, tiny injury is all the motivation we need inspire us to take care of our feet.
There is more to proper foot care than just running some water on them and making a half-hearted swipe at them with some soap. To properly take care of your feet, you will have to remove your calluses, exfoliate, moisturize, and soak your feet. Properly taking care of your feet should become its own little beauty ritual that you go through every night.
Soaking your feet is a part of your foot care routine that you will quickly fall in love with. There is very little that feels better than feeling an entire day’s worth of tension slowly seep out of your feet.
Make Your Own Foot Soak To get the most benefit from the time your feet are tucked into a basin, you should add a foot soak to the warm water.
The items you will need to make a wonderfully relaxing foot soak includes 2 tablespoons of olive oil, water, 1 cup of lemon juice, cinnamon, and ¼ cup of milk.
After you have gathered all of your ingredients, you should mix all of the ingredients together and add them to the water you are using to soak your feet.
Massage While You Soak In addition to the foot soak, you should also drop a handful of marbles into the water. While your feet are in the foot soak, you should run your soles back and forth along the marbles. The friction caused by the marbles against your skin will massage the tension from your feet.
When You’re Do Allow your feet to soak for fifteen to twenty minutes. When you finish soaking your feet, you should use a mild soap to clean your feet and use a peppermint lotion to moisturize them.
