A brief descrifatior of some of the very useful herbs and substances required for making cosmetics at home. Almond:- Ground almonds are used extensor in face marks and as washing grains. It is good for nourishing and cleansing.
Almond Oil:- This is one of the very rich oil is used in all types of home made preparations for skin care.
Alcohol:- It has antiseptic, peserring and grease cutting properties, used mainly in stimulating astringents. Vodka is a common substitute for alcohol.
Alum:- A fine white or yellow powder with astringent properties. It is used in lotions and for hardening the feet. Also used as a dry shampoo to remove sweat and dirt.
Angelica:- It is a large aromatic plant growing in gardens Angelica has downy, triangular leaves, follow stalk branches and white or pale-purple flowers. Angelica is a herb for digestion bringing shift relief from flatulence, colic and heart burn. An infusion should be made from the leaves and chopped stem. It may be used as gargle for the treatment of so tonsils and throat. The plant is also used to flavor many alcoholic drinks.
Apple:- A naturally acid fruit. It is good for the skin.
Apple cider vinegar:- it restores the acid mantle to the skin. It can be used diluted as skin tories.
Apricot:- Rich in vitamin A use the pulp in face marks. Apricot oil is very rich in polyunsaturated oil, so it is used in nourishing creams.
Ascorbic Acid:-
It contains vitamin C.

Avocado:- Rich and nourishing with high vitamin contents. Use the pulp in feeding face marks and oil is nourishing creams.
Baby oil:- A fine colorless, non-penetrating oil which rests on top of the skin. Ideal for cleansing creams but not nearly as good as vegetable oil for other creams, lotions and bath oils.
